Volunteer coaching bursary scheme
Our volunteer coach bursary scheme exists to support new and existing volunteer coaches at sports clubs in Three Rivers to attend courses and workshops that will aid their development and therefore improve the quality of coaching in the district.
The scheme is open to all volunteer coaches working at a sports club based in Three Rivers and covers a wide range of coaching qualifications, courses and workshops.
What does it fund?
Any level 1 or 2 (or equivalent) coaching, official or referee course run by the relevant national governing body of sport. The scheme also supports access to the Herts Sports Partnership coach education workshop programme covering first aid, safeguarding and more.
What does it cover?
For Level 1 (or equivalent) a maximum of £100 or 50% of the total course fee (whichever is lower) is available
For Level 2 (or equivalent) a maximum of £200 or 50% of the total course fee (whichever is lower) is available.
Workshops run by Herts Sports Partnership are FREE or subsidised by 50%.
Am I eligible?
You must be aged 16 or over to attend most coaching courses (14+ for some courses). You must volunteer at a club based in Three Rivers. Or you must work for a charity or voluntary organisation based in Three Rivers.
How do I apply?
Applications are open year round but must be made in advance of attending a course or workshop. Bursary payments cannot be made to individuals. All bursary payments are made to the sports club you volunteer for.
