Leavesden Country Park car park entrance works

Visitors to Leavesden Country Park are advised the main entrance will be closed to all vehicles as roadworks are to be undertaken next week.
Three Rivers District Council’s contractors are planning to start and complete the final phase of the entrance widening works. This includes installing a new pedestrian island and tarmacking the widened entrance.
The entrance will be closed for a period of 3-4 days from Tuesday 25 March and visitors to the park are encouraged to walk or cycle. Those who use services at the YMCA will receive separate communication on how to access the site during this period.
There will be traffic management in place along College Road, allowing the construction team to complete the road tarmac laying as part of the phased works to widen the entrance to the park safely.
Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, the Leader of the Council, said: “I am delighted that we have reached the final stages of this project after much hard work to vastly improve the entrance to one of the most important sites in our district. I know these final improvements will cause inconvenience for some, but I am pleased the majority of the project has been completed with minimal disruption and it will provide a greatly enhanced experience for visitors to the park for many years to come.”
Work has continued on site with the repairs to the walls and railings along College Road.
