Several famous historical figures lived or worked in Three Rivers District, including William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, and the paper mill owner, John Dickinson.
Historical buildings in the district include Moor Park Mansion and Basing House, which is home to the Three Rivers Museum.
The various small towns and villages located within the district offer a choice between rural countryside and urban residential housing.
