Volunteering opportunities across Three Rivers will be on display at a special event being held in the district later this month.

Residents are invited to The Hive, Croxley Green, on 20 November to find out more about the range of volunteering opportunities on offer.

The drop-in event, a partnership projected between Three Rivers District Council and Watford & Three Rivers Trust, will showcase a wide range of ways that people can get involved in volunteering with local organisations. It will also provide an opportunity to talk to some of the groups and find out more about the difference they make in the local community and how you can provide support.

A variety of community organisations which work to make difference within local communities will have stalls at the event. Anyone who has just a few hours to fill a week and would like to help others, or is looking for a new challenge, is invited to head to the fair and find out more.

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst , the Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “Volunteering provides a valuable opportunity to acquire new skills, connect with others, and engage with your local community. The Volunteers Fair is part of our ongoing efforts to support and celebrate the vital contributions of volunteers and community organisations make to our district”

Amanda Williams, Deputy CEO and Head of Community Wellbeing at Watford and Three Rivers Trust said: “I love volunteering and have experienced a wonderful sense of personal fulfilment in both personal and business volunteering roles. I’ve learnt new things, met amazing people and created wonderful memories that will stay close to my heart forever… it’s not all about supporting individuals and our community –  it’s also about the opportunity for your own personal growth, creating feelings of  gratitude and achieving outcomes you didn’t even know were possible”

The event is free to attend and will take place on Wednesday 20 November, from 11.30am to 2pm, at The Hive, Croxley Business Park.
