Town centre project moves forward

Updated: 27 January 2015

The proposed redevelopment of the centre of South Oxhey reached another important milestone this week as the Council agreed...

Three strong outline proposals have been selected to go forward, chosen for their potential to deliver high quality homes, shops and public spaces for the residents of South Oxhey along with value for money to the Council.

Three Rivers’ lead member for resources, Cllr Matthew Bedford, said:

“A great deal of careful preparation has gone into the project and I’m pleased with the high quality bids that have been made.  It is part of the process that we have now narrowed down the bids to a shortlist of three before we agree on the best deal for South Oxhey.

“The development will provide not only a new town centre but also new homes and high quality public spaces.”

The selection process remains on programme with final detailed bids due to be returned to the Council at the end of March.  The winning bidder will be announced in May 2015 followed by public consultation events that will influence the final design.
