The Pride flag has been raised over Three Rivers House to mark Hertfordshire’s biggest celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.
Herts Pride 2022 – for which Three Rivers District Council is a sponsor – is celebrating its tenth year at Cassiobury Park in Watford .
Along with various stalls and a funfair, a line-up of live acts will keep the crowd entertained on the main stage throughout the day. And for those fans of four-legged friends, the ever-popular Herts Pride Dog Show will return.
The flag was formally raised in a ceremony at the headquarters of the district council, in Rickmansworth, attended by its chair and leader.
Cllr Sarah Nelmes, Leader of the council, said: “We are extremely proud to be sponsoring this event and to be celebrating all that Pride stands for. I am delighted that the flag will be flying at Three Rivers as a symbol of our enduring support.”
Cllr Debbie Morris, Chair of the council, said: "I was really happy to be part of the Pride flag-raising ceremony. It's so important to show our support for the LGBTQ+ community who sadly, still face unacceptable discrimination."
Herts Pride is returning for its tenth year to celebrate the county’s LGBTQ+ community and beyond, featuring a variety of stalls, a funfair, catering area and more.
Herts Pride 2022 takes place on Saturday 20 August in Cassiobury Park, Watford, from 12pm to 10pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or bought on the day. Attendees are given an event wristband at entry.
