Parking made easier in Watford Road after council listens to concerns
Plans designed to make parking easier and more convenient around Watford Road businesses come into effect after the council listens to parking concerns.
Following the recently advertised ‘Notice of Proposals’ to amend the Croxley Green Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ), Three Rivers District Council has decided to implement the changes and have made the Traffic Regulation Order, which came into force on Monday, 29 January.
The changes include some minor amendments to the layout of some of the parking bays and yellow lines within the CPZ and also include the conversion of one-hour limited waiting parking bays to up to four-hour short stay ‘pay by plate’ parking bays, giving people greater flexibility when visiting the shops and local amenities.
The changes were proposed following a petition led by a local business, changes to the parking arrangements by Greene King at the Red House Pub and a review of short-stay parking opportunities in the locality by district council officers.
Cllr Paul Rainbow, Lead Member for Public Services - which covers transport - said: “It is vital that local businesses and residents have excellent parking arrangements.
“I am delighted that the council has listened to the concerns raised and acted quickly to make parking easier and help keep the all-important churn in available parking spaces so that people can get in and out when they need to. I thank the petitioner and everyone who took part in the consultation for all their input in making these changes a reality.”
