New ramp improves access to Rickmansworth town centre car park
Pedestrians will now have a safer option to enter and exit a well-used Three Rivers District Council-owned car park thanks to a new ramp.
The council has installed the ramp at the Northway Car Park, in Rickmansworth, to improve access for wheelchair users and pushchairs.
Prior to this, the only non-step access to and from the town centre car park was via the main vehicle access route.
The ramp was completed at the end of April and is already being well used by all patrons of the car park.
Cllr Paul Rainbow, Lead Member for Transport and Economic Development, said: “The safety of all our residents is paramount and we, as a council, have ensured disabled residents and parents using pushchairs can enter and exit the busy car park easily and safely.
“It is amazing to see that residents are already using the ramp. I want to say a massive thank you to the Property team involved with designing and installing the ramp for our residents to use.”
