A one-stop shop that provides residents with access to a wide range of services and support to live healthy and happy lives has opened its doors in Abbots Langley.

The new Healthy Hub co-located with the Citizens Advice in the Old Stables behind St Lawrence Church and will be open to the public every Wednesday 10am to 4pm.

Residents can access a range of services, including Three Rivers District Council’s Customer Service Advisors, who are on hand to provide face-to-face support for any council-related queries, and Three Rivers Housing Advice officers who provide advice and guidance for those threatened with homelessness.

Grand Union Community Energy Champions will be available to provide support and money-saving advice around energy saving and home energy efficiency improvements.

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “Our Healthy Hubs are important in helping residents access our services.

“Following the cost-of-living crisis, which has led to an increase in mental health issues and money struggles, the Healthy Hubs pull together a range of services under one roof, making it easier for residents to access the support and advice they need in a joined-up way.”

Peta Mettam, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Service Three Rivers said “We are very pleased to be able to support, and work alongside, this important community service. Grateful thanks must also go to our landlords for the permission to offer the Hub space within our office - St Albans Diocese and the Church Council of the Parish of Abbots Langley.”

Three Rivers Healthy Hub started in 2019 and is a partnership project between Three Rivers District Council and Hertfordshire County Council.

The service also operates in South Oxhey and Mill End and seeks and work in partnership with the local community to understand what other needs there are, and how future services can be shaped. Times and dates services are available can be found on the council’s website.
