Following popular demand, Three Rivers District Council has announced further dates for individuals or families to get involved and express their creative side at two workshops. The workshops are as follows:

Poster and Storyboards workshop - limited spaces remaining

Wednesday 31 July and Thursday 1 August at Batchworth Canal Centre

If you know any budding young artists who are passionate about their environment, don’t hesitate to book them.
With the help of children’s illustrator, Leanne Coelho, you will create artwork inspired by the Rickmansworth Aquadrome, that will be shared and used to help raise awareness of this special site.

Nature in Clay workshops

Tuesday 27 August at Batchworth Canal Centre

Roll up those sleeves and play with clay. Families can enjoy exploring texture and creating ornaments together, using clay and natural materials you might find on a walk through the Rickmansworth Aquadrome.

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Lead Member for Leisure, said: “With the end of term fast approaching and time off planned, now is the perfect time to get the dates in your diaries to be involved with these fantastic workshops.

“The Rickmansworth Aquadrome is a very photogenic place and a special site for our residents. I look forward to seeing everyone’s creativity flourish.”

If you are interested in any of the workshops listed, please book here.

All of the workshops listed have been funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which distributes a share of National Lottery funding to support a wide range of heritage projects across the UK, including the Rickmansworth Aquadrome.

Notes for Editors

About The National Lottery Heritage Fund

Our vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future. That’s why as the largest funder for the UK’s heritage we are dedicated to supporting projects that connect people and communities to heritage, as set out in our strategic plan, Heritage 2033. Heritage can be anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. We believe in the power of heritage to ignite the imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and to build pride in place and connection to the past. Over the next 10 years, we aim to invest £3.6billion raised for good causes by National Lottery players to make a decisive difference for people, places and communities. [JB6] [EJ7]
