Learn about women’s health at a local event this International Women’s Day

Residents are invited to attend a free women’s health event on International Women’s Day to raise awareness of health concerns faced by women and the local support available.
Three Rivers District Council are hosting an event at Rickmansworth Golf Club to promote awareness of women’s health issues. The event is taking place between 11am and 1:30pm on International Women’s Day, which is Saturday, 8 March 2025.
Rebecca Young, the council’s Head of Strategy and Partnerships, said: “The event promises to be engaging and informative for everyone in the family to take part in, and it couldn’t be a more important date on which to hold it. I warmly invite anyone interested to sign up and come along.”
The event will feature three talks from local professionals. Representatives from One Vision - will be delivering a talk on how to spot symptoms of cancer and how to get a screening. Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust will be talking about their fitness and wellbeing programmes and their health benefits. There will also be a talk from a consultant talking about gynaecological health
Residents who have children are encouraged to come along and bring their little ones too. Refreshments will be available and there will be the opportunity for children to enjoy playing footgolf at the event.
Following this, attendees will then have the opportunity to speak to these organisations and a variety of other local organisations, This includes CoppaFeel, Hertfordshire Beacon, Herts Mind Network, Watford Women’s Centre, Watford African Caribbean Association, and Three Rivers District Council Healthy Hubs.
