Herts Pride - Hertfordshire’s LGBTQ+ celebration is back
A variety of acts, events, and stalls will fill Cassiobury Park later this month as Hertfordshire’s LGBTQ+ celebration returns for its twelfth year.
Herts Pride, sponsored by Three Rivers District Council, is taking place on Saturday 31 August in Watford, from midday to 10pm, for a fun day filled with different types of activities.
Along with various stalls and a funfair, a line-up of amazing live acts will keep the crowd entertained on the main stage throughout the day. Headlining will be Gareth Gates and Angie Brown. Dog lovers will be thrilled with the return of the highly popular Herts Pride Dog Show. The district council will also be present with a stall providing information on its services and initiatives.
Tyson Martin, Chair of Hertfordshire Pride Society, said: "I am thrilled to see Herts Pride celebrate its twelfth event at Cassiobury Park.
"Pride is not just a celebration but also a powerful protest. It shines a light on the injustices and discrimination that the LGBTQ+ community continues to face, both in the UK and globally.
"Hosting an annual event like this allows us to create a space where everyone can come together to celebrate the vibrant LGBTQ+ community of Hertfordshire."
Jo Wagstaffe, the chief executive of Three Rivers District Council, said: "I am immensely proud that we are once again sponsoring Herts Pride. This event not only celebrates the rich diversity of our community but also raises vital awareness about the ongoing struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community.
“Herts Pride is a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and equality. It provides a wonderful opportunity for people to come together, enjoy fantastic entertainment, and support one another in a welcoming environment. I look forward to seeing everyone there for a day of joy, solidarity, and celebration."
Tickets can be purchased in advance online or bought on the day. Attendees will receive an event wristband upon entry. Purchase tickets at: Herts Pride 2024 Tickets.
