Three Rivers District Council staff and councillors have donated more than one hundred gifts and food to charity ahead of the festive season earlier this month.

Wrapped presents were kindly donated to the Otley Way Family Centre in South Oxhey, which provide intensive family support with a focus on child welfare in the local area on a range of issues, including domestic abuse, mental health, and more, ensuring every child has a present to wake up to on Christmas morning.

In addition, Watersmeet and Paul Holman Associates, the pantomime promoter, donated 20 tickets to see the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime.

More than 90kg of food donations, which include pastas, cereal, canned soup, and more, were handed over to local foodbanks across the district to support those in need over the winter period. The donations also included toiletries and feminine products.

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Three Rivers District Council Leader, said: “I am blown away by the acts of kindness from our staff and members. I thank everyone who has generously donated. It will make a real difference to the families who are struggling.”
