Get crafting and gardening this summer at Three Rivers Healthy Hubs

Press ReleaseUpdated: 14 July 2023Community and living

Interested in making your garden into a paradise for bees and creating cushions out of scrap materials? Come and see how at these events.

With the school summer holidays approaching, Three Rivers Healthy Hubs will be hosting two free events for families that will entertain children and adults of all ages in July and August.

Learn how to make your garden into a bees’ paradise by creating seed bombs that can be thrown into your garden or in a planter that will grow into bee-friendly plants and encourage more wildlife while helping pollinators.

The seed bomb sessions will take place at the Hillside Community Hub in Abbots Langley on 26 July and Oxhey Library in South Oxhey on 27 July. Both will happen between 11am to 4pm.

A cushion-making session will also be held at the Hillside Community Centre on 9 August and in Oxhey Library on 10 August between 11am to 4pm for both events.

This will be an opportunity to use up materials/fabrics from home (the larger the piece you bring, the larger the cushion you can make, large t-shirts work well) or those provided at the hub to upcycle into a usable cushion – no sewing required. There will also be colouring sheets for the children to get involved in.
