Pedal power is sweeping across the district, get on a Three Rivers e-bike this spring

Pedal power is sweeping across Three Rivers this spring with more than two thousand bicycle journeys being made since a new e-bike scheme was expanded into the district.
And the leader of Three Rivers District Council is urging local people to take advantage of the Beryl Bike scheme as the spring weather warms and Easter holidays approach.
Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “The scheme has done very well since its launch and has clearly captured the hearts and minds of cyclists from Three Rivers and beyond! And what better time of the year to take advantage of the scheme than spring. It’s time to get out there and get on our e-bikes!”
The Beryl Bike scheme was expanded into Croxley Green in October 2024, giving residents the opportunity to pick up one of 15 e-bikes from new bays to travel across the district and beyond.
The latest figures show that 2,106 journeys have been made in and around Croxley Green since it’s expansion.
In February alone, 328 journeys within, to and from Croxley Green were made, that’s an average of over 11 trips a day.
The scheme was first introduced in Watford in 2020 and its expansion was funded by Three Rivers District Council through its Community Infrastructure Levy.
