Recycled garden waste is set to bring new life to the gardens of Three Rivers in the form of free compost for green-fingered Three Rivers residents.

Residents will be able to collect up to two bags per household of the organic compost produced from garden waste collected from homes across Hertfordshire and donated by Envar, West London Composting.

Emma Sheridan, Three Rivers District Council’s Associate Director of Customer and Community, said: “Spring has most certainly sprung, and we are delighted to be able to help residents with this free compost giveaway. Giving away recycled organic compost is a great way for us to thank residents for recycling their garden waste which has been collected over the year, as well as encouraging residents to use sustainably produced local compost.”

The council’s garden compost giveaway will take place at Leavesden Country Park on Wednesday 14 May from 10am until 2pm or sooner if the compost runs out.

Residents are asked to bring their own shovels and bags to fill.
