Christmas opening times and service information
Residents are reminded that Three Rivers District Council will be altering the operating hours of the phone lines and visitor centre in Rickmansworth over the Christmas and New Year period.
The council’s online services will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week as usual.

Christmas household waste collections
No collections will take place on Wednesday 25, Thursday 26, Friday 27 December and Wednesday 1 January.
Extra bags of refuse will be collected on Thursday 2, Friday 3 and Saturday 4 January ONLY for these residents
Collections on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 December will take place on the normal collection day and no excess refuse will be taken on these dates.
Collections will take place one day later after New Year: Thursday 2, Friday 3 and Saturday 4 January

Garden waste collections
No garden waste (brown bins) will be collected between 16 December to 3 January. Garden waste collections will start again the week commencing 6 January 2025.
Real Christmas trees can be left out and will be taken (WEEK B only) regardless of subscription to the Garden Waste Service.
Recycling collections
Extra recycling can be left out in carrier or clear bags over the Christmas/New Year Period.
Paper-based wrapping paper (do the scrunch test – see link) is accepted in the recycling bin as are plain greeting cards.

Bulky waste (Special) collections
We will ring the next eligible 20 collections for the week commencing 9 December.
There will be no collections from the week commencing 16 December up to 3 January. Collections will resume the week commencing 6 January 2025.
Trade waste – Refuse & Recycling
No collections will take place on Wednesday 25, Thursday 26, Friday 27 December and Wednesday 1 January.
Collections on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 December will take place on the normal collection day.
Collections will take place one day later after New Year: Thursday 2, Friday 3 and Saturday 4 January. Trade customers will be emailed and advised of revised collection dates
Clinical collections
There will be no domestic sharps collections the week of 23-27 December.
We will collect trade-only customers on Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 December.
We will collect trade & domestic clinical collections on Tuesday 31 December, Thursday 2 and Friday 3 January.
Trade customers will either get an email or flyer. Domestic customers will find details on Three Rivers District Council’s website.
