Five locations approved for new CCTV across Three Rivers

NEW CCTV cameras are set to be introduced at five additional locations across the district as part of Three Rivers District Council’s commitment to local safety.
The new cameras will be installed in locations at South Oxhey, Carpenders Park, Leavesden and Mill End.
The CCTV is being deployed across the district to help combat anti-social behaviour and crime, based on assessment by the Three Rivers Community Safety Partnership, of which the council and Hertfordshire Police are members.
The new cameras will be installed at:
1. Hayling Road, South Oxhey playing field entrance, South Oxhey
2. Delta Gain parade of shops, Carpenders Park
3. Furtherfield (South Way Junction), Abbots Langley
4. Katherine Place car park, Leavesden
5. King George V Recreation Ground, Mill End
Cllr Andrew Scarth, Lead Member for Community Safety & Partnerships, said: “Community safety is a top priority for this council and therefore it is great news that we will have new cameras in these vital locations. I want people who live, work and visit Three Rivers to feel safe and CCTV cameras are an essential part of that, I am confident they will be successful.”
In December councillors agreed £76,716 for new cameras funded by the Community Infrastructure Levy pot – a charge on new developments within the district.
For each proposed camera installation, the council will notify any residents or businesses potentially impacted by the decision. A two-week public consultation period will follow, during which no cameras will be installed.
