An event dedicated to men’s physical and mental health is being held at Vicarage Road Stadium as part of Hornets Together, a new health and wellbeing project aimed at Watford Football Club supporters.

On Saturday 16 November, Watford Football Club’s Community Sports and Education Trust, in partnership with Three Rivers District Council, are hosting an event designed to raise awareness of health issues affecting men and promote local support resources.

This event, hosted in The View, will include a range of presentations by guest speakers. Attendees will then have the chance to visit informative stalls about the services available to them. Organisations involved include Three Rivers Healthy Hubs, Watford Healthy Hubs, Man Made, Imatter, The Ollie Foundation, Mend, and others. Additionally, the Better Health Bus will be parked up at the stadium – this is a new mobile health bus, equipped for free health checks, stop smoking support, and information and advice to people across the county to help them improve their health and wellbeing.

Cllr Steve Drury, the district council’s Lead Member for Housing and Public Health, said: “Three Rivers is excited to partner with Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust to create an open space for people to learn more about men’s health. Events like this are essential for raising awareness about health issues that disproportionately affect men. We’re proud to be part of the Hornets Together project, where local organisations have a platform to engage with Watford Football Club supporters and our wider community on men’s health.”

The Men’s Health event will end with a stadium tour for those who would like to see behind the scenes at the home of Watford FC. Food and drinks will also be provided for attendees.
