Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a theatre? Visitors to Watersmeet in Rickmansworth will soon have a chance to find out as the venue opens its curtains for some special tours.

The fascinating workings of Watersmeet will be open for a series of guided tours for one day only - as part of celebrations to mark the theatre’s 50th anniversary - showing theatregoers what happens to bring the magic to life on stage.

The theatre’s manager Ben Terry said: “This is your chance to go behind the curtain and uncover the fascinating workings of our beloved theatre. Whether you’re a theatre enthusiast, a history buff, or just curious about what happens offstage, this tour offers a unique glimpse into the world of live performance.”

Friendly and knowledgeable guides will take participants on a journey through Watersmeet’s rich history, sharing stories about its past, present, and exciting future.

Ben added: “Explore the backstage areas where the magic happens, see how productions come to life, and even get some hands-on experience with the tools and techniques that make it all possible.”

The Magic Behind the Scenes tours at Watersmeet, which is owned by Three Rivers District Council, are taking place on Monday 17 February at 11am, 2pm and 4pm. Tours are free and a donation towards the venue of £2 is welcome.
