Garden waste collection
You can subscribe to our fortnightly garden waste collection service if you wish to dispose of garden waste.
The garden waste collection service costs £70 per year for one 240-litre bin or £60 if you receive certain benefits. Second and third brown bins cost £115 each per year.
The sign-up period runs from 1 April to 31 March every year, though you can subscribe at any time of the year. If you subscribe to the service within the first six months of the sign-up period, you will need to pay the full cost. If you subscribe within the last six months of the sign-up period, the fee will be reduced by 50% for the first bin.
You will need to set up a direct debit when registering for the service.

After registering for the service, you will receive your brown garden waste bin within 10 days. Residents signed up to the garden service will not be issued a sticker/permit for attachment to their bin
You must leave your brown bin at the edge of your property by 6am on the day of your collection.
Things you can dispose of in your garden bin
- grass cuttings, straw and hay
- hedge clippings
- tree loppings, small branches twigs and bark
- flowers, leaves, weeds and plants
- fallen fruit
- rabbit bedding
Things you cannot put in your garden bin
- stones and rubble
- turf, earth and soil
- large branches
- wood that has been treated or painted
- Japanese knotweed
- cat or dog faeces
- plastic of any kind
- Christmas trees (place these beside your bin with the stand and decorations removed)
