Press ReleaseUpdated: 12 June 2023Trees and Landscapes

Hertfordshire’s free giveaway for residents, ‘Your Tree Our Future’, is returning for a second year with a minimum of 60,000 trees set to be given away.

Following a successful first year, where 46,000 trees were claimed, Hertfordshire residents can once again apply for up to five free trees made up of nine species which are suited to Hertfordshire’s geography and climate.

You can select from the following species: Field Maple, Silver Birch, Hornbeam, Hazel, Hawthorn, Crab Apple, Wild Cherry, Rowan, or select a hedgerow pack. The trees will be made available for collection later this year in time for the next planting season.

Three Rivers District Council is supporting the delivery of the scheme alongside Hertfordshire County Council and the county’s other district and borough councils. The County Council has funded an additional 3,000 trees for Three Rivers residents.
