Progress Pride Flag raised at council’s head office
Pride Month was marked by raising the Progress Pride Flag at Three Rivers District Council’s head office in Rickmansworth on Monday, 10 June.
Chief executive Jo Wagstaffe was joined by council officers in raising the flag to celebrate, commemorate and recognise lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride.
Jo said: “I am proud that we can show our support for the LGBTQ+ community by raising the Pride Flag at the council’s head office, Three Rivers House.
“It is important that we celebrate and recognise the LGBTQ+ community and their contributions to society as well as the challenges they still face in the modern world.
“Although social attitudes in the UK are changing for the good, we should not be naive to the fact that LGBTQ+ people continue to face barriers and there is still a long way to go.”
