More than £1.5m has been allocated to four schemes from a levy on developers building across Three Rivers district.

A meeting of the Full Council of Three Rivers District Council unanimously approved on Tuesday 9 July to allocate funds from its Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) pot – a charge on new developments in the district – to Chorleywood Common Youth Football Club, Beryl CC, and two council infrastructure projects.

Chorleywood Common Youth Football Club applied for £185,903 of CIL funds to refurbish its current pavilion while Beryl CC applied for £45,000 for 15 e-bikes and five parking locations in Croxley Green as part of the Bike Hire Extension Scheme with Watford.

A further £817,231 will be injected into replacing the pedestrian bridge at the Rickmansworth Aquadrome, by the Ebury Play Area, and £456,000 will be used to complete groundworks and drainage at the council’s operational vehicle storage facility at the Batchworth Depot in Harefield Road.

Joanne Wagstaffe, Chief Executive of Three Rivers District Council, said: “It is fantastic that we can use money the council receives from developers to help bridge funding gaps for projects, like these, that will have a positive and lasting impact on our communities.”
