Parish councils across Three Rivers have been given a new forum in which to raise the views and concerns of local communities directly with the Leader of Three Rivers District Council.

A new regular liaison meeting has been established by the council leader, Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst. The parish liaison meetings are an opportunity for the district council leader to listen, discuss, and, where possible, take action on matters raised.

Cllr Giles-Medhurst said: “Being an elected member of a parish, town or community council is to be a vital part of what is the backbone of local government, providing very important services and events.

“When I became district council leader earlier this year, I was very keen to work in collaboration with the parish and community councils and take them on the district council’s journey every step of the way.

“Having these meetings is a great way to hear directly from the parish councils on what concerns their communities the most and how we can help alleviate or resolve the matter. We may not be able to resolve everything, but it is very important to have a constant dialogue, and I look forward to keep on working with the parish and community councils.”

The new parish liaison meetings will take place four times per year hosted at Three Rivers House, the district council’s head office in Rickmansworth.
