On Sunday 6 October 2019, the tough 10K course took the runners around Abbots Langley, Bedmond, and Kings Langley.

Three Rivers Chairman, Paula Hiscocks, was delighted to start the races and hand out medals and trophies for this inspiring family community event. From Abbots toddlers running in the 1 km race to participants from as far away as Torbay taking place in the 10 km.

Despite the forecast of heavy rain, the sun shone and runners and spectators had a wonderful morning at the 37th Abbots Tough 10 race.

Cllr Hiscocks said: “Running is a sport that is accessible to all ages and so enjoyable with our marvellous countryside in Three Rivers.”

The race raised funds for local charities and beneficiaries. Over the years the event has provided specialised equipment for the less mobile in the form of hoists, beds, wheelchairs, and tricycles as well as assisting local schools with special projects and individual beneficiaries to improve their quality of life.
